EPA has shared Final Data Summary Report (DSR) for the Supplemental Characterization of Shallow Groundwater Discharge Study for the Newtown Creek Site linked here and the following note: “The DSR is a presentation of analytical data from the Lateral Groundwater Study conducted directly by EPA from September 2022 to March 2024. As part of the ongoing process to update water quality standards for all of New York City’s waterways, NYS DEC announced that a Draft Reclassification of Newtown Creek has been released for public comment. As part of the proposal, NYS DEC and NYC DEP are considering a proposal to take further actions to improve water quality in Newtown Creek.
